Ambrosia Labs is a multi-faceted project-oriented Corporation geared towards Research and Development in the Physical, Biological, and Engineering Sciences. We are looking for self-motivated, results-driven people with a ‘can-do’ attitude for our new Space Technology Solutions Group (STSG). This department will be tasked with innovating technology used in Space exploration, Space travel, Astrobiology, Extraterrestrial Life Support Systems and Robotics.

 

Job Description:

 

Ambrosia Labs is seeking skilled and motivated Mechanical / Design Engineers to aid with the prototyping of life detection systems to be used in the exploration of extraterrestrial ocean worlds (e.g.  Europa, Enceladus, Titan, etc.). The selected candidates will work with engineers on product feasibility studies and new product concepts as well as support production, problem analysis, design layout and perform physics calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Most notably their duty would be to create conceptual designs using 3D modeling and 2D drawing development, assist in product testing, and document results. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to make independent design decisions, create and bookkeep bill of materials, have a working understanding of materials and procurement methods and be able to perform accurate assembly layouts showing motion and part interface.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the engineering documentation and file accessibility
  • Produce complete plans from verbal or written descriptions from team members
  • Provides technical support to  team through problem diagnostics
  • Instruct and enforce best practices

 

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.

The successful candidate will have a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of three (3) years product designing experience. They must have demonstrated good written and communication skills, a disposition to be part of a functionally diverse team, endless curiosity, and a “NO FEAR” mentality. Experience with  Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks, are a plus, portfolio of previous work is highly desirable.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have relevant experience working in a research and development environment.
  • Ability to understand and abide by government safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze data and write accurate, concise and readable test summary reports.
  • Must pass a background check.
